Tirana to Dhërmi — private transfer by road
The journey between Tirana and Dhërmi crosses most of southern Albania, finishing with the descent from the Llogara Pass to the coast. Done as a private transfer it is one vehicle, one driver and no changes; done by public transport it is a connection in Vlorë and a wait for a coastal service.
Book a Tirana to Dhërmi transfer
Tell us whether you are starting from the airport, a hotel in the city, or somewhere else in Tirana.
What to send us
- Where we pick you up — a hotel, apartment, beach or airport terminal
- Where you are going
- The date and the time
- How many passengers, including children
- How much luggage, and anything bulky
- A flight number, if you are arriving or departing
Send those details and we reply with the vehicle, the price and the pickup arrangement. Nothing is booked until we confirm it.
We use your details only to arrange your journey. Nothing is stored on this website.
Why travellers take a private transfer on this route
There is no direct bus between Tirana and Dhërmi. Travelling independently means a long-distance coach or furgon towards Vlorë or Sarandë, a change, and a coastal service that may set you down on the main road above the village rather than at your accommodation — with a steep walk to finish.
A private transfer collapses that into a single booking. You are collected where you are staying, your luggage is loaded once, and you are dropped at the door of your hotel or apartment, or at the closest point a vehicle can reach it.
It also fits around your schedule instead of a timetable. Late arrivals, early departures and inconvenient flight times are the normal case on this route, not the exception.
The route in outline
A description of the drive, not a timetable. We confirm timing for your specific journey when you book.
Tirana and central Albania
The journey begins in Tirana or at the airport at Rinas, heading south on the main road through central Albania.
Towards Vlorë
The route continues to the Vlorë area, where the coastal road to the Riviera begins.
The Llogara Pass
The road climbs into the Ceraunian Mountains and crosses the Llogara Pass — the most scenic and the slowest part of the drive, with tight bends and a long descent.
Down to the coast
Below the pass the road reaches Palasë and then Dhërmi, with access roads running down to the village, Drymades and the beach.
Pickup and drop-off arrangements
From the airport, your driver meets you in the arrivals area with a sign showing your name, after you have cleared baggage reclaim. Flights are tracked, so a delay moves the pickup rather than losing it.
From a hotel or apartment in Tirana, we collect from the entrance at the time agreed. If the address is on a street where stopping is difficult, we will agree a nearby point instead.
At the Dhërmi end, we take you to your accommodation. Some properties in the old village and above the beach are reached by stepped lanes or tracks that a vehicle cannot use — in those cases we drive to the nearest accessible point, which we identify with you in advance rather than on arrival.
Luggage and passengers
This is a long drive, so space matters. Tell us in advance:
- How many passengers are travelling, including children
- How many large suitcases and how many cabin bags
- Anything bulky — a pushchair, golf clubs, a surfboard, diving equipment
- Whether you need child seats, and the ages of the children
- Whether you want a return transfer at the end of your stay

On journey times and prices
We do not publish a fixed duration or a fixed fare for this route. Both depend on the season, traffic, weather over the Llogara Pass, your exact pickup point and the vehicle required.
You receive a price for your journey before you confirm the booking, and a recommended departure time based on when you actually need to arrive.
Choosing a vehicle for the drive
For a journey of this length, matching the vehicle to the group is worth doing properly. Send us your numbers and we will confirm what we can provide.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class
Our main car: a black E-Class saloon with a leather interior, licensed as a taxi and used for everything from a run down to the beach to the long transfer to Tirana airport.

Passenger van
For groups and families travelling with luggage, where a saloon would not have the space. Tell us your numbers when you book and we will confirm whether the van is the right vehicle and whether it is free.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the drive from Tirana to Dhërmi take?
It varies enough with season, traffic and conditions on the Llogara Pass that we will not publish a single figure. When you book we give you a recommended departure time for your arrival, based on the day you are travelling.
Can you collect from a hotel in Tirana rather than the airport?
Yes. Give us the hotel name and address and we will collect from there. City-centre pickups sometimes need a slightly different meeting point if the street is hard to stop on, which we will agree with you beforehand.
Can we stop on the way?
A stop at the Llogara Pass for the view is a common request, and other stops can usually be arranged. Mention it when you book so the time is included rather than added at the roadside.
Is the Llogara Pass difficult in bad weather?
It is a mountain road, and conditions there can differ from the coast. We drive it regularly and will tell you if weather is likely to affect your journey, including if we think you should leave earlier.
Do you also drive from Dhërmi back to Tirana?
Yes, in both directions. Book the return at the same time as the outbound journey and both are held together.
Travelling from Tirana to the Riviera?
Send your pickup point, date and time and we will confirm the transfer.
